Are there any particular requirements for laying hens in cages? What should be paid attention to when laying hens are caged?
Now we generally use cages to raise laying hens, which can provide a relatively healthy and safe production environment for laying hens, thereby improving the laying capacity of laying hens. Cages can also reduce the spread and infection of diseases and facilitate management. When transferring laying hens into cages, they must be operated correctly. If the operation is wrong, it will affect the production of laying hens. So what problems should we pay attention to when laying hens are caged? Let's learn about it together.
1. Cage age
The appropriate age for laying hens to be caged is generally between thirteen and eighteen weeks old. This can well ensure that the weight of young laying hens is within the normal standard, and at the same time, it can also increase its egg production rate during the breeding process. We should pay attention to that the latest cage time should not be later than twenty weeks of age; and when the chickens grow well, we can continue to twist the cage at sixty days of age. When caged, we also need to group and cage in batches according to the different growth of laying hens.
2. Facilities and equipment
After laying hens are caged, we still need to ensure their original growth environment, otherwise it will also affect their growth and production. We need to equip the corresponding breeding equipment and install various breeding facilities before caged; in addition, these facilities and equipment must be strictly inspected and replaced to avoid problems in the later breeding process.
3. Scientific catching chickens
When laying hens are caged, we must be scientific, not too noisy, be gentle, not too hard, and never alarm the chickens, otherwise it will cause an overreaction, which will have a great impact on the growth and production of laying hens. Generally, the appetite of chickens that are subjected to stress reactions will decrease, and then they will gradually weaken, seriously affecting the health of the chickens.
4. Prevent the increase in the incidence rate
When laying hens are caged, the operation must be correct, and after caged, we must pay attention to the changes in temperature difference and regulate the temperature reasonably. Generally, the cages are put in at night, and the feeding is improved after the cages are put in. The feed with balanced nutrition is reasonably configured, and the drug control is carried out scientifically, so as to prevent the occurrence of some diseases and improve the quality of laying hens.
5. Prevention and control of parasites
In order to ensure the health of laying hens and the later production, we need to deworm them. Especially when the laying hens are 60 days old and 120 days old, which is when we are in the cages. Then when we are in the cages, we must feed the deworming medicine according to the scientific medication instructions to prevent and control parasites.
6. Keep the flock relatively stable
It is actually very simple to keep the flock relatively stable, that is, to cage the flocks in the same shed and the same circle as much as possible. Generally speaking, when strange chickens enter a new environment, they will compete for food, water, and position, which has a great impact on the production of laying hens, so this situation must be avoided.
